Sr. Right of Way Agent
At MVA, we specialize in Acquisition and Relocation Services for Right of Way Projects.
Primary Responsibilities
We are expanding our team and are looking for a new team member that will complement our team in the capacity of a Senior Right of Way Agent. The ideal candidate will have experience in Right-of-Way Acquisition and Residential and Non-Residential Relocation per Uniform Relocation Act for different types of public agency and private entity clients.
The Senior Right of Way Agent will carry out the tasks as listed:

Implement applicable federal, state and industry laws and regulations such as FHWA, FAA, FTA, FRA, FERC, NEPA, and the Uniform Act, as well as the client's policies and procedures.

In conjunction with others, perform activities to support Real Property projects, such as property assessments, risk analysis, acquisition of needed rights, occupant relocation, property management, construction coordination, and relocation/coordination.

Prepare and manage the assigned project scope, schedule, and budget for acquisition and relocation projects.

Demonstrate strong time management skills and the ability to work with a sense of urgency to complete fast paced projects.

Possess and maintain understanding of federal, state, and local regulations related to acquisition and relocation under the Uniform Relocation Act.

Negotiate with landowners, stakeholders, and government agencies for the acquisition of land rights.

Provide Relocation Services to displaced owners and tenants as required by the Uniform Relocation Act.

Perform online title searches and courthouse searches to identify interests in real estate.

Read and understand engineering plans, surveys, title reports and legal descriptions.

Draft real estate documents such as easements, options, and purchase agreements.

Prepare and collect necessary documentation to relocation activities.

Attend field meetings and visit project sites for in person interviews.

Be available for travel as needed.

Provide support during project pre-negotiation due diligence.

Conduct complex negotiations for the acquisition of necessary priority rights

Provide advisory service for displacees of public or private projects.

Coordinate right-of-way issues for clients as assigned.

Ability to work independently within a team, confidently with clients, property owners, and occupants and be responsible for schedule and budget.

Prioritize work and perform activities at a high level.

Be flexible for travel, as required.

Work flexible hours and coordinate closely with management.

Perform other duties as needed.

Communicate and document effectively.

Track daily entries.
Required Qualifications

A minimum of 5 years of experience in real estate, right-of-way, title, relocation, or property management. Applicable degree can supplement years of experience.

Ability to understand and work in compliance with the federal and state laws specific to the real estate and right-of-way industry.

Must have the ability to understand and work in compliance with the Uniform Act, federal and state laws, and regulations specific to the real estate and right-of-way industry.

Proficiency with standard technology tools such as Office 365 and related components Adobe, Client based Flairdocs, software.

Strong communication skills in order to work effectively with people, a basic understanding of negotiation and presentation skills, and the ability to work flexible hours are all must-haves.

Strong writing skills and ability to explain acquisition and relocation memos for client review and approval.

Must have a valid Driver's License and ability to operate a vehicle day or night.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Experience implementing applicable federal, state and industry laws and regulations such as FHWA, FAA, FTA, FRA, FERC, NEPA, and the Uniform Act, as well as the client's policies and procedures.

Real estate license broker in good standing, or equivalent, as required by law in Washington State

Notary License
