Right of Way Agent
 

 

At MVA, we specialize in Acquisition and Relocation Services for Right of Way Projects.

We are expanding our team and are looking for a new team member that will complement our team in the capacity of a Right of Way Agent. The ideal candidate will have experience in Right-of-Way Acquisition and Residential and Non-Residential Relocation per Uniform Relocation Act for different types of public agency and private entity clients.

 

The Right of Way Agent will carry out the tasks as listed:

  • Provide pre-negotiation project, parcel and property owner due diligence and negotiations for acquisition of rights relative to public or private projects as assigned.

  • Review appraisals and just compensation verify parcel on right-of-way plans or plats verify property owners and the extent of interests prepare offer packages and maintain complete and detailed records/files with owner contacts, maps, drawings, exhibits and detailed progress reports.

  • Provide Relocation Services to displaced owners and tenants as required by the Uniform Relocation Act.

  • Perform other duties as needed.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Real estate license broker in good standing, or equivalent, as required by law in Washington State.

  • 3 years of experience in real estate or relevant real estate experience.

  • Ability to understand and work in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations specific to the real estate and right-of-way industry, such as the Uniform Act.

  • Proficiency with standard technology tools such as Office 365 and related components Adobe, Client based Flairdocs, software.

  • Strong communication skills, basic understanding of negotiation and presentation skills, and ability to work flexible hours and effectively with people of all types. 

  • Ability to work confidently with clients, property owners and occupants. 

  • Effectively balance office and field work in a collaborative and deadline-sensitive manner  

  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our team culture is a must.

  • Must be able to pass a background check.

  • Must be legally able to work in the United States of America.

  • Must have a valid Driver's License and ability to operate a vehicle day or night.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience

  • Experience implementing applicable federal, state and industry laws and regulations such as FHWA, FAA, FTA, FRA, FERC, NEPA, and the Uniform Act, as well as the client's policies and procedures.

  • Notary License

  • Local candidates (Seattle, surrounding area) are preferred.
